1992 Cadillac Eldorado

There's a real “sweet spot” in antique vehicle collecting, no matter what the mode of transportation is; motorcycle, truck, or car. If you can find that vehicle that was cared for and treasured by the ORIGINAL owner, and has low miles, buy it!!

I've always loved the design of the last series of the Cadillac Eldorado which spanned from 1992-2002. Designed by General Motors thirty-year veteran Dennis Little, who also had headed the EV1 design, this Eldorado was always on my list of cars that I wanted to own. But, with one big exception: I didn't want an early Northstar engine under the hood. Right or wrong, I feared the early Northstar engines, but problem solved! There is a tried and true, one year only, L26, 4.9L Cadillac engine in the 1992 Eldorado's. And, it's practically bullet-proof.

This Crimson Red example is a base Eldorado, with just the basic options: floor mounted console automatic, a/c, AM-FM cassette stereo, cruise control, and 30 spoke wheels (which look great, but require extensive cleaning).

Mr. Antonio Grillo leased this car from new in '92, and then bought it in 1995 at the end of agreement. Mr. Grillo had a company car for daily use, so the Eldorado was a Sunday only, nice weather car. Better yet, from October to May, it slept in a heated garage over the bad weather months of Patterson, New York. That arrangement resulted in 7,800 total miles from 1992 to his passing. All the original paperwork, owner's manual, factory Monroney sticker, the Bill Kieran key chain, and even a solar powered Cadillac calculator were included in the sale. Because of its pristine condition, I have done some minor detailing, replacing wear items with genuine GM-Cadillac parts, and entered it for 2024 national judging in both the Cadillac-LaSalle Club National Meet, and the AACA Hershey Fall Meet. It has done surprisingly well, and that's all due to Mr. Antonio Grillo, who loved his Eldorado.
